Early Wednesday morning, Jeb Bush released a statement endorsing Cruz, who had ended up winning more than fifty per cent of the vote in Utah, thus picking up all forty delegates in that state. Bush called the Texas senator “a consistent, principled conservative who has demonstrated the ability to appeal to voters and win primary contests,” and said, “For the sake of our party and country, we must move to overcome the divisiveness and vulgarity Donald Trump has brought into the political arena, or we will certainly lose our chance to defeat the Democratic nominee and reverse President Obama’s failed policies.”
Despite running a cunning campaign designed to trick voters into thinking that he’s a bible pure “Strict Constitutionalist” Ted Cruz is a low down smarmy manufactured candidate that would make Frank Underwood blush. Think a flim flam man on the order of Mr. Haney from Green Acres.
As I’ve discussed in Political Tropes, Cruz is merely playing the outsider to harness angry voters. It’s all an act and has been since his ridiculous conduct in the Senate. Remember when he read “Green Eggs and Ham”? Yeah it was all posturing and bullshit.
But Ted’s establishment roots run very deep. Roger Stone, Jr. author and Trump confidante, has done an excellent job dissecting the Bush tentacles that have enveloped the Cruz Campaign. They have been there since day one, waiting to pounce if Jeb! faltered. Well, Jeb! fell flat on his face and the Cruz sleeper cell has been activated.
The Bush-Cruz connection is clear. Ted was George W.’s brain when he ran for president. A top policy adviser, Ted maneuvered for Solicitor General in Bush World but settled for a plum at the Federal Trade Commission. Ted’s a Bush man with deep ties to the political and financial establishment. Ted and wife Heidi brag about being the first “Bush marriage” – they met as Bush staffers. Cruz was an adviser on legal affairs while Heidi was an adviser on economic policy and eventually director for the Western Hemisphere on the National Security Council under Condoleezza Rice. Condi helped give us the phony war in Iraq. Heidi then went to the Bush U.S. Trade Representative as a top deputy to U.S. Trade Rep. Robert Zoellick, who wired Heidi’s membership in the Council on Foreign Relations and job at Goldman Sachs. The bailed-out bank then loaned Cruz $1 million secretly to finance his Senate race. Crux would also borrow an undisclosed $1 million loan from Citicorp.
Now with the recent Hire of Neil Bush, the guy that gave us the Savings and Loan Debacle, as his campaign finance director these connections are cemented. Although Ted! has always been aligned with the Bush Crime Syndicate it’s now out in the open. Clearly sleazy Ted’ thinks by bringing in the Bush thugs he can slam Trump and steal the nomination. Cruz now will continue to lie about being an outsider while opening his pockets to be filled with big donor riches.
While Ted Cruz maintains a preacher like cult status among a certain group of voters, his support continues to drop as his campaign of subterfuge and dishonesty leaves many disgusted. Now only the truly brainwashed minions will follow him. He’s no more an outsider that than the Club for Growth (an open borders syndicate) and other special interesrs that back him.
The crux of the matter is that Ted! is not an outsider but rather the most desperate and dispiriting of inside cronies. Stone is on point again here:
Cruz and his establishment puppet masters are engaged in an aggressive strategy against Trump. The false narrative of course being that Cruz is the outsider while Trump is the insider. Nothing could be farther from the truth. In its most simplistic terms – the power elite have no leverage over Trump – nothing. Cruz, on the other hand, is the establishment’s quisling, spawned by the Bushes and controlled by Wall Street, who became a strident “outsider” only four years ago.
So now the cat is out of the bag. Move over Jeb! here comes Ted!
